All decorations, signage, or advertising will need to be approved by Kelson Hall staff prior to decorating for your event.

Helium balloons
live flame (including incense, burning candles etc)
Hanging décor
Stapling, taping decorations to walls
Paint
Fog or haze
Securing items into the floor
Scented aerosols
Diffusers
Steamers
There are no restrictions to playing music, taking photographs, or filming with the exception that during regular hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm playing music or sounds must be maintained at a minimum to ensure a healthy working environment for Kelson Hall staff.
You are responsible for the set up and take down of your event. Please note that all personal items you bring with you to the event will be disposed of it not taken with you after your event.
The Kelson Hall kitchen may be used as a prep area for your catered in food. There is no access to cutlery, cups, plates, the fridge, or dishwasher.
There is access to the sink, garbage, and two microwaves.
If you bring food to your event there are additional fees:
$120 added to the rental fee and $500 deposit.
The expectation is that only prepared food will be brought in. No cooking allowed on premises. All food dishes must be removed at the end of your event or disposed of.
Yes, alcohol is permitted at Kelson Hall. You will be required to obtain a liquor license as per City of Kamloops Policy and show proof of that license prior to your event to Kelson Hall staff as part of your orientation.
Clients are responsible for their own garbage disposable.
Garbage bins are located outside next to the east side emergency exit. *Please ensure the exit door is firmly closed.
Mixed recycling bins are located on the landing in the North emergency stairwell.

There is street parking or parking at the 300 St. Paul St City Parking Lot (free on weekends).

A few weeks prior to your event you will be asked to book an appointment to have a site-visit orientation at Kelson Hall. The intent of this visit is to allow you to get familiar with the building, consent to the terms of the orientation, and plan your event accordingly.
